How it works

From the first call to the next hearing.

Six steps. Where you are in a case decides which one we start from.

  1. 01

    Step 1: You reach out

Tell us what you have been given: a letter, a safety plan, a petition, a hearing date. If nothing is on paper yet, tell us what the caseworker said.

  2. 02

    Step 2: We read everything

We go through the agency's papers and any court filings, and mark what is a fact, what is an allegation and what is a deadline.

  3. 03

    Step 3: We sit down

In person at the office or by phone, we explain your options in plain words and agree what comes next. You decide; we advise.

  4. 04

    Step 4: We prepare you

Before a visit, an interview or a hearing, we go through what will be asked, what to bring and what to leave at home.

  5. 05

Step 5: We stand beside you

We speak to the agency, to the other lawyers and to the judge, so that you are not facing them alone.

  6. 06

Step 6: We stay after the hearing

A case plan runs for months. We check each step against it and get ready for the next review with you.
